Who we are
Easy Pinyin (easy-pinyin.com) is an independent educational website. You can reach us through our contact form.
No account, progress stored on your device
You don't need to create an account. Your language choice and your HSK 1 progress (words seen, review dates, streak) are saved in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device: we never receive it. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Microphone and speech recognition
When you press the microphone button, your browser asks for permission. Speech recognition is performed by your browser's own service (Google for Chrome, Microsoft for Edge), under their privacy policies. Easy Pinyin does not receive, record or store your voice. You can use every exercise without a microphone by choosing to rate yourself.
Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to show ads, which helps keep the site free.

Hosting, fonts and libraries
The site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps technical server logs (such as IP addresses) for security. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and some open-source libraries from the jsDelivr network; these services receive your IP address when your browser downloads the files.
Contact form
When you write to us, your name, email and message are sent through Netlify Forms. We use them only to answer you and delete them once the conversation is over.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws, you can ask to access, correct or delete any personal data we hold about you. Write to us through the contact form.
Children
Easy Pinyin is a general-audience educational site. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
